I gotta tell you guys, this Summer was a bit rough on me. One of the things that helped to keep my comics drive was Halloween. I love making this holiday and I really love making these special posters for you guys. The first two years I homaged classic 80's horror film posters, then last year we payed respect to comic's horror routes. It only seemed fitting to tackle the video game medium and there was no better choice then Castlevania. Super Castlevania IV for the SNES to be exact.

I admit that while I'm a passing fan of the series I've only ever played one game in the franchise (this one). I knew about it when I was a kid but I didn't play much horror (or old) games then. I think like a lot of people my first major exposure to Castlevania was from the Angry Video Game Nerd. I love the Nerd and his 4-part Castlevania video is still my favorite episode of his. So much so that I downloaded Castlevania for my Wii simply 'cause he made it sound so good. It's got amazing controls, great atmosphere, and a challenging yet reasonable difficulty. A definite recommendation. (And yeah, I'm hyped to hell that Simon and Richter are in Smash Ultimate)

Hope you guys have an amazing Spook Season. I'm actually going to a friend's house party the day this releases and plan on watching some horror favorites over the weekend. Maybe make a jack-o-lantern or two. Just gotta look out for those Medusa heads (what a pain to dodge).

Be sure to check out Mystical Valve's Halloween companion piece, where we homage the most feared marine in hell!
